Maxine H. McJunkins

Mrs. Maxine H. McJunkins, age 90, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas. She was born August 10, 1922, in Saratoga, Arkansas to Ed and Betty Echols Hughes. Mrs. McJunkins was a retired teacher’s aide, with 25 years of service at Hope Public Schools, and was a member of the Hope Church of Christ for 35 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. McJunkins was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred McJunkins, a brother, Glen Doyle Hughes, and two sisters, Ruth Easley and Kate Hill.

Mrs. McJunkins is survived by a daughter, Janice Martin and husband Greg of Hope, two grandchildren, Alan Martin and wife Jenifer, Amy Martin Weir and husband Scott, three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Weir, Mallory Weir and Benjamin Martin, a nephew, David Easley of Little Rock, Arkansas, a niece, Martha Guy of Texarkana, Texas, her loving church family and many friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hope Church of Christ Pre-school System, 1815 Hwy. 73 East, Hope, Arkansas 71801.

Funeral service for Mrs. McJunkins will be 2:00 pm, Friday, January 11, 2013, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel in Hope Mr. Kevin Vaught and Mr. Barry Haynes officiating.
