J. K. Davies

Mr. J. K. Davies, Jr., 86 of Gurdon passed away, Monday, December 24, 2012 in Baptist Hospital in Arkadelphia. Mr. Davies was born May 23, 1926 in Dobyville, Arkansas to Jesse Kincaid Davies, Sr. and Mattie Lou White Davies. He is retired from Reynolds Aluminum as Maintenance Scheduling Supervisor and a US Army Veteran of World War II. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gurdon where he was very active in church activities and a member of the Friendly Men’s Sunday School Class. He enjoyed fox hunting, taking care of his hounds, teaching kids to water ski, and his grand-girls. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; George Davies and Wayne Davies, four sisters; Virginia Qualls, Francis McElhannon, Doris Davies and JoAnne Davies and his wife’s twin sister, Jean Boulden.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years of marriage, Jo Gates Davies, his son; Don Wesley Davies and wife, Debbie of Gurdon, his sister; Mary Henson of Wynne, his two grand-daughters; Heather Bruce, husband, Tommy and Krissi Jo Childres, husband, Toby, his two great-grandchildren; Kamryn Kincaid Bruce and Thomas Elliott Bruce and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Gurdon.

Funeral services will be 10:00am, Friday, December 28, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Gurdon. Rev. Carl Ownbey will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon.
